I hope the holiday season offered plenty of celebration and am writing now about a time-sensitive opportunity to advance digital rights undermined by warrantless NSA surveillance.<div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">You may already know that faced with a key statutory deadline at the end of 2017, members of Congress tried to ram through <a href="https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2017/12/dont-reauthorize-nsa-spying-must-pass-funding-bill" class="">a proposed last minute extension</a> without crucial privacy protections, but instead were forced to <a href="https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2017/12/momentary-victory-against-nsa-surveillance" class="">punt the question</a> into the new year.
