<br>My goal with the ECG is to design a board and do a DIY kit build with the toner transfer method, so I could definitely work on getting the kit displayed at HOPE. Beyond that, I may have time to work on my own OpenEEG but I'm not sure. Maybe with help from the lists I'll do alright.<br>
<br>If anyone has any robotic projects or ideas that would pair well with ECG let me know and we can brainstorm. My ideas were either an ECG printout you can take home with you, or a robotic oversized arduino controlled plush heart that beats in sync, and is physiologically accurate (representing the linear firing of the heart muscles).<br>
<br>Might be interesting to work on correlating data from an eeg and ecg for some entertaining purpose, if such a thing is possible. Temperature, blood pressure, and other simple signals could be mixed in for effect. I'm just throwing things out there a bit randomly.<br>

Having the ECG project at The Next HOPE will be cool. I think people there will like it. I think that if we had ECG with a few other human interfaces (North Paw, OpenEEG, etc.) it would be way fun and popular at the conference. We need people to pipe in, and to make this happen! If we had a way(s) to control a robot by changing our body that would be awesome!<br>

ECG is probably an easier way to start out than EEG. But the OpenEEG project makes the hardware easy (and pretty inexpensive, too). Electrodes seem to be the most challenging, but some people, such as Andreas, who's been hanging out at Noisebridge doing way cool EEG stuff, have it down! So, please feel free to comment and/or ask questions on the Noisebridge EEG list.<br>

Please do come to the workshop at Baltimore-Node. They seem like a really good group of people. Following my workshop on Saturday they are having a 6-month anniversary open house.<br>

Maybe I'll make a trip up!<br><br>I'm working on a low cost version of an ECG amp front that can be assembled as a kit. Once that's working I'll refine it with an instrumentation amp and add more electrodes. Then I have to work on ADC and signals processing. I have a Xilinx Spartan-3E board with some onboard ADC hardware that might work well as a processing host with the picoblaze soft processor loaded up. Still ironing out the kinks in getting my computer to talk to the board though ;) I'm also interested in what cheap microcontrollers might be able to handle.<br>
<br>EEG seems considerably more ambitious than ECG, but I'd like to move onto EEG once I get the hang of ECG for sure.<br><br>I'm open to working on any kind of human machine interface project, but this is what I'm focusing on right now as an entry point into bio signals. I'd be interested in biofeedback related stuff, driving robots or other systems with the heart signal, etc.<br>
