I just want to make sure that this discussion is about food that was actually stolen and not acquired via dumpster diving. If this is all about food pulled out of dumpsters, I have no problem with it, as long as the end products are labeled as "dumpstered." There are quite a few spots in the bay area where one can acquire perfectly good food out of dumpsters, like the Cliff Bar and Rainforrest chocolate factories in Berkeley.<br>
<br>Alternately, just taking food from a store without paying is obviously uncool, and I don't think it's terribly important for us to all restate this fact over and over.<br><br><br><br><br><div class="gmail_quote">

Stealing food is completely uncool. I would not eat their food or associate<br>
with this person no matter how "in need" I was. The word "thief" has a bad<br>
connotation for a good reason. If you're truly hungry, there are many far<br>
better systems built into our society. You can always get a free meal<br><span>
downtown at Glide Church (<a target="_blank" href="http://www.glide.org/Meals.aspx">http://www.glide.org/Meals.aspx</a>) or many other</span><br>
organizations. Glide's roast chicken on Thursdays is pretty good and always<br>
served with a smile.<br>

At the end of the notes from todays member meeting I've found kind of PS to<br>

discussed, however this subject was not on the meeting by it self. Me<br>

Frantisek Apfelbeck. I'm the person who after several days of thinking<br>
decided<br>
to talk to the person who brings to Noisebridge stolen groceries, to process<br>
it,<br>
turn it in to the tasty product and give it to the people in need. I think<br>
the<br>
goal is noble but I do not think that obtain the resources by stealing is<br>
good<br>
thing to do no matter from what resources is the food coming. I've suggested<br>
to<br>
the person in question to further explore the ways how to meet the these<br>
goals<br>
but in a more positive, constructive way. As for me, I do not want to cook<br>
and<br>
eat food, which was obtained without agreement of the counterpart. I'm<br>
trying<br>
to buy local, organic and fair trade if I can. I do not think that steeling<br>
is<br>
"excellent".<br>

Well that should be it from me, I would like to know what the other people<br>
think<br>
about that.<br>
