I was looking for places recently. I'd recommend, if possible, coming out in advance and checking places out in person before you move in anywhere. There are lots of things that look great on paper but have horrible catches (smells like cat piss; 3br actually a 2br with a living room being passed off as a third bedroom; old Asian landlady lives on premises, wants things quiet, doesn't like people being around).<div>

<p>I would be working in mountainview, and right now am looking at possible neighborhoods to live in.  However there is a monkey in the wrench...  as a loyal son of NYC, I do not own a car nor drive pretty much ever.  So, it will take me time to rectify that.  Until then, I would like to make use of public transport / bike options.</p>



<p>Knowing virtually nothing of the area, I'd love to hear some suggestions on where to live.  =D</p>
<p>Or anything else anyone would like to shout out.</p>
