As a new visitor myself, it feels like there's a growing rift between<br>
new visitors versus long-time visitors.  I respect that the long-time<br>
visitors helped bring this space together, know more about the vision of<br>
the space, and make a conscious effort to keep noisebridge alive.<br>
<br>
That said, most of the long-time visitors don't actually show up that<br>
often.  And when they do, the vibe I personally get is one of<br>
entitlement as if to say "i own this and you're just a guest".<br>
<br>
On the other hand, some of us, like me, use this space as our personal<br>
office.  This is normal for some other hackerspaces, like Hacker Dojo.<br>
Basically, people work long hours at the space, take legitimate naps<br>
there, do some collaborating, and get a lot done.<br>
<br>
The issue is when you spend all day here working and then long-time<br>
visitors show up and act like you're in their way.  I'm not talking<br>
about anybody in particular, that's just my general observation.  The<br>
response from newer visitors, in turn, is animosity to the long-timers.<br>
  The result kinda feels like "us-versus-them".<br>
<br>
That's just my observation.  I think making the space feel welcome for<br>
everybody, long-time and new alike, requires effort from everybody.<br>
