<br>The reason Corel Draw is recommended is because it has a "hair line" (or some such) description of 0.01" lines (vector/cutting) which makes the operation a bit more intuitive.  In Inkscape, if one scales an object after assigning a value to the line width, it may scale the line width as well.<div>
<div></div><br></div></blockquote><div><br>Inkscape can be setup so that it does not change line width when you scale an object. It is trivial to setup since this option has a button in the main toolbar.<br><br>The guys in Metalab (Vienna hackerspace) developed a free-software CUPS driver for their EPILOG laser cutter so that it can be used without having to rely on proprietary sotware.<br>
