For the fruitfly problem, what usually helps to catch them is to set out bowls or jars with a mixture of water, dishwashing liquid and vinegar. I don't have a specific recipe, but just put about 1/3 bowl/jar of water, then add enough dishwashing liquid to slightly thicken it and enough vinegar to smell strong enough to attract the fruitflies. It's also a good idea to check the drain for rotting food buildup where fruitflies might be laying eggs and clean that out, and maybe pour a little bleach down the drain if you're not opposed to that. I'll make up some fruitfly jar traps next time I'm there if nothing's been done yet.<br>
