The Sept 17th Occupy anniversary event is actually the 'reformist' camp within that movement, lots of old-school people doing Seattle-WTO-style protesting. Over this coming weekend, there is also an event revisiting the Human Be-in which was so monumental in the sixties [1]. <a href="http://humanbein.org/" target="_blank">http://humanbein.org/</a> Lots of folks from occupy and elsewhere, hacking the commons and partying in the spirit of the Albany Farm: sheet-mulching Golden Gate Park while teaching yoga and playing free concerts.<br>

I think it's interesting to note the choice that we have. On one hand there is 'protesting', trying to get a disinterested government to pay attention and grant us our desires. Sometimes this is used as a tool to reach the public but they are reached, bro. Popular opinion in America is weighted heavily towards dissatisfaction, and people are eager for alternatives. So then, if the American People are eager for alternatives, and we are proponents of do-ocracy...<br>

Basically, it's time to get to work building the future already.<br>

We are advised by SFPD that the Occupy Action Council San Francisco has<br>
planned a day-long event for the one year anniversary of Occupy Wall<br>
Street. The San Francisco event is being called, "Occupy Wall Street<br>
West", and it's scheduled to take place on September 17th. Below is the<br>
list of events that have been made public so far by OccupySF, Occupy<br>
Oakland, Occupy Bernal, Occupy Bay Area United (OBAU) and the Occupy<br>
Action Council San Francisco.<br>

1) Occupy Bay Area United<br>
Beginning at 5:00 p.m. on 9/16/12, they will initiate a 24 hour<br>
occupation at 555 California Street. This occupation will conclude at<br>
5:00 p.m. on 9/17/12. OBAU states that this will be a nonviolent<br>
action, and they will be protesting the "financial malfeasance, embodied<br>
by the corporations residing in the building located at 555 California."<br>
<br>
2) Occupy The Banks<br>
All Day action beginning on 9/17/12. People are asked to move their<br>
money and "take creative nonviolent action to confront the banks' theft<br>
and destruction of our communities, homes, environment, education,<br>
health care and democracy."<br>
<br>
3) "Occupy Senior and Veterans Foreclosures and Evictions"<br>
401 Van Ness, 12 noon to 3:00 p.m.<br>
Protest and Press Conference coordinated by Foreclosure and Eviction<br>
Fighters and supporters of Occupy Bernal, Occupy Noe, and the Alliance<br>
of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE)<br>
<br>
4) Occupy Oakland Street Party<br>
People are asked to gather at Justin Herman Plaza at 1:00 p.m. on 9/17.<br>
"Party takes to the streets of the San Francisco Financial District" at<br>
2:00 p.m.<br>
<br>
5) "Occupy Fortress Investment Group"<br>
One Market Plaza, Spear Tower, 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.<br>
Protest coordinated by Foreclosure and Eviction Fighters and supporters<br>
of Occupy Bernal, Occupy Noe, and the ACCE<br>
<br>
6) "Mass Convergence" Protest<br>
555 California - Bank of America and Goldman Sachs<br>
5:00 p.m. t0 7:00 p.m.<br>
It appears that all of the participating groups/people will come<br>
together at this time for a mass protest. This includes OccupySF,<br>
Occupy Bernal, OBAU and Occupy Oakland.<br>
