<div dir="ltr">Psychologically speaking it doesn't take much to change a person's behavior. It can be as little as a prominent mural saying "Be Excellent!" at the entrance. That reminder can trigger improved behavior in all facets in the same way that various other messages have been used to change human behavior, from "Wear safety goggles" (leads to general care/awareness when handling tools) to "Please curb after your dog" (also encourages / allows people to reprimand those who don't).<br>
<br>Of course, in the spirit of making such a reminder optimistic and welcoming, it would state things in positives ("Our space is your space!") rather than negatives ("Don't leave your shit all over the place!").<div>

</div>I think the issues in this thread (feces and urine in the shop, and<br>
bottles of urine being left elsewhere) are ideal examples of behavior<br>
that is unlikely to be prevented by posting signs with rules or<br>
guidelines. Can anyone imagine someone believing it was ok to do these<br>
things, but then, upon seeing a sign declaring that this is unacceptable<br>
behavior, realizing the error of their ways? I certainly can't.<br>
(Meanwhile, what effect might such signs have on the vast majority of<br>
people who would never consider leaving bottles of urine in the space?)<br>

If anyone knows the source of any kind of mess left in the space, please<br>
ask the persons responsible to clean up their mess!<br>

A few days ago while I was at Noisebridge a grey dog was seen urinating.<br>
The person who saw it got up and located the dogs owner, who promptly<br>
cleaned it up. I think it should be entirely uncontroversial to say that<br>
if your dog isn't house trained you shouldn't bring it to Noisebridge.<br>
But I don't think we need a sign to that effect.<br>
