Getting the initial translation will provide for a template, and it is easier to update over time. If you have a separate Spanish front page, what happens if someone edits the English one? Then you have out-of-date information.<br>

That, or you�re asking for someone to translate all of their edits.<br>

I think a better approach would be to make sure the copy on the pages you�re interested in internationalizing still read well when sent through an online translator. Unless you have some sort of deep-seated resentment against Google�s free services, I don�t see why Google Translate is such a bad idea for a page with non-colloquial English phrasing.<br>
