I struggled with the name, too. I wanted to avoid the image of "hard iron computing" that "embedded linux" instils. I mean, Android is a friendly name, but I don't want to corner the market on that name since the segment of embedded development I am after is getting OS's on interesting hardware, while the name Android might be better for a group focusing on application development.
stuff and get shit done, rather than mailing an individual.
The name "tiny-tux" doesn't strike me as a very obvious name for the
list. Is there a better name we can use? linux@lists ? I suppose
android@lists is not great, since you're looking at many platforms not
just the peculiar Android stack.

embedded@lists ?
headless@lists ?

other suggestions?

I'll go with tiny-tux if nothing better comes up, though. :)

The group charter sounds great! Thanks for getting it up and running!
