Hello Noisebridge members,
We have come to a conclusion about resolving some of the safety issues
that we have been discussing in this email chain and during our
Saturday meeting.
1. Entry issues will be resolved for the 2nd floor rear unit by:
a) replacing lock or boarding up the door at the northeast stairway
connecting the 2nd and 3rd floors' rear kitchen areas.
b) replacing the locking mechanism of the 2nd floor's southern door.
2. Security cameras will be installed in the southern staircase. Feeds
for the camera will be available to both the 1st floor tenants and
Noisebridge. If there are no objections, I'll be coordinating with Dr.
Jesus on this.
3. Magnetic locks will be installed for the southern building
entrance. This will allow tenants to exit freely in case of an
emergency. Currently the 1st floor tenants are using a padlock on the
outside to secure the entrance. Although we would ideally like to use
the staircase as a secondary emergency exit, until this is installed,
Noisebridge should inform their members to use the front fire exit or
the north staircase in case of an emergency. I'll be coordinating with
the 1st floor tenant and Dr. Jesus on this.
4. A gate may be installed place at the base of the southern staircase
on the 1st floor, allowing one-way exit. If we can muster up the funds
for it, it would serve to prevent trespassers from entering the
southern staircase.
If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks!
Henry
