Action Rental rents a variety of floor sanders and they were very helpful.

Their rates are $69/day or $275/week and they suggest making a reservation.

Apparently, the new trick is to use a sanding belt rather than 
sandpaper, which sounds like a really good thing. Belts run $10-15 each.

I would recommend completing the demo before sanding so that sanders 
could be run from end to end on the floors. Typically, though, flooring 
work is one of the last projects to be completed.
