we'd still have to frame them though? or construct the whole thing from
screws? i think the screws are a fine thing except for maybe attaching
to the floor (mostly because i'm still not sure about the threading
strength to the floor since i was 'taught' you wanted something like
half the length actually in the target wood).

I'd nail to the floor, and use screws to frame. Screwed together walls are
sturdier. The reason professional crews don't screw framed walls together is
it takes too long. Seeing as labor is free, screwing the walls makes way
more sense, plus if we have to take the wall apart again, it'll be way
easier.
