waiting to see what and where people do stuff is
a good idea.
having dark (dimly illuminated) areas thought out
wrt display glare is a good idea.

from the installation and get-it-done point of
view, getting the pipes and circuits up should be
done asap. seems we can distribute junction boxes
throughout the ceiling so's to accommodate future
repositioning, though we'll have to place switches
asap and hope there's not a lot of re-wiring or
goofiness.
seems to me the "dirty workshop" and classrooms
are a known quantity and we can reposition lights
for them.
i'm not as sure of the electronics workplaces
(south wall, west portion between the "electrical
storage" room and the windows): if that's the
location, then positioning lights seems doable
(mainly, position the ceiling junction boxes and
light switches and figure we can adjust exact
locations of lights between the columns and the
walls as we see fit).

that was a helpful shot, john; i'm hoping for
more wrt above from you and others. again: the main
thing is to get the pipe and junction box locations
thought out so we can put them up now and still be
flexible wrt future use.
