It depends on the gear, as to whether or not it would be useful.

If you'd like to see networking gear get used directly, try and tuck
it away in the server closet somewhere.
We'll see if we can put it to good use.
We could use quality cables, and enterprise/service provider-focused
network gear. Little Linksyses and SOHO gear isn't of much use.

If you place it in the hackshelf areas, it'll probably get pulled
apart and repurposed or explored.

For tax deductions, you'll probably want to coordinate with
treasurer at noisebridge.net to get a receipt.
