[Build] Happy Reboot Day

Greetings, great Noisebridge community,

Today is an historic day for Noisebridge. We have closed the space to
general usage for the first time in 7 years of continuous operation,
and 1743 days of uptime* without an upgrade.

Today, the first Tuesday of July, marks the first Tuesday evening in
7+ years that a General Meeting will not take place.

Today is an affirmation of Do-ocracy, and a day of rest from policy,
drama, and hackerspace politics.

Right now, an upgrade process is happening in the background, calling
out to users old and new, many of whom return now in spite of what
they've grep'd from Noisebridge's log files, to come build a better
system.

We're welcoming many new users, too, who announce themselves by saying
they've been meaning to access Noisebridge, and the Reboot was just
the grand project they needed to start developing here.

Right now, piles of ancient Noisebridge cruft lie in neatly separated
piles on the hackatorium floor awaiting garbage collection.

Soon the random-access memory of our physical space will clear, making
way for deployments of long-dreamed-of processes that will better
optimize everything Noisebridge has to offer.

Today, the first Tuesday of July, we Reboot both to affirm the ideals
with which Noisebridge was founded, and to honor the lessons we've
learned along the way.

July 1st begins the 31 day saga of The First Great Reboot. It will
take every spare cycle that all of us users have to offer, and it will
cost a great deal in financial resources.

On August 1st, just 4 short weeks from now, we'll reopen our doors to
everyone. And on August 15th, we'll have a Great Reboot Party of epic
proportions in our Upgraded / Rebooted space.

To hackerspaces and sympathetic organizations around the world: keep
your sockets open. We'll be sending packets for a long time.

And to the Noisebridge community: in the words of Rubin on the day of
our first meeting at 2169 Mission St*,

"Welcome to Noisebridge, where every day is a noisebridge."

All the best,
Naomi
