[Build] Who's welcome at Noisebridge?

All are welcome to come and check out Noisebridge, to see if it's a place for them to contribute to our community! 

We need volunteers to be Greeters at our door for all hours when Noisebridge is open to the public. 

This works great at other hackerspaces around the world! 

There should never be a time (during hours when we are open to the public) without a volunteer Greeter at our door to welcome everyone who shows up to Noisebridge. 

Everyone should be welcomed at the door when they arrive at Noisebridge!   The Greeter explains Noisebridge, our public open hours, offers a tour, and if the Greeter likes the vibe, they let the person know they are welcome to come back to Noisebridge any time, to take classes/workshops, give classes/workshops, use our tools, use whatever Noisebridge has to offer, and to contribute to our community.  If the Greeter isn't happy with the vibe (totally up to the Greeter), the Greeter politely lets the person know that our class/workshop schedule is on our website, and they are welcome to come back for a class/workshop of their choice, and then they are asked to leave.  

If anyone shows up who is aggressive or impolite, or otherwise unexcellent (totally up to the subjectivity of the Greeter), the person is politely turned away at the door. 

During hours when Noisebridge is not open to the public, only Members in good standing are welcome in Noisebridge, with their guests who the Member is personally responsible for. 

Before the last Greeter leaves for the evening, they make sure that only Members in good standing are remaining at Noisebridge (and Member's guests, each of whom has Member present who is personally responsible for them). 

When a Member leaves Noisebridge when we are not open to the public, the Member makes sure that no one remains in Noisebridge who is not a Member in good standing or their guests (each of whom has a Member present who is personally responsible fir them).  

We need a Greeter committee.  This committee can work out all the details of the above, and also be responsible for choosing volunteer Greeters, ensuring that we always have Greeters at the door for hours when we are open to the public, and handling any grievances that may arise. 

Who wants to be part of this committee?  I volunteer.

    For the first couple months of the reboot, we need to turn away some
    people. It's a cultural reboot as well as a physical one in my view.

        Aside from taking up a metered spot (today), these people
          haven't done anything wrong to Noisebridge when it was open,
          but - correct me if I'm wrong - it doesn't seem like they have
          done anything good TO Noisebridge. I feel like they're
          literally waiting outside to be let back in so they can use

          I don't think these people should be banned, but they
            should be discouraged from using the space if they're just

        I guess this is a question for Jean-Jacques, since he's
          taken charge of the kitchen changes: I'd like to know what the
          plan is for furniture in the kitchen area. I know that the
          circuit panel near the sink either has been or should be
          removed, and that makes it less reasonable for a prep table or
          food shelving to be sitting across from the sinks. I think the
          area should be filled with more tables for people to place
          their computers and work, or use devices, or play games, or
          whatever non-food things people do with tables. If we do want
          a coffee station, maybe it can go where the oven once was
          (once it's removed).
        

        
        Sorry if this is detailed in the wiki somewhere; I haven't
          been able to find any concrete plans.
