Hi,
Josh (whose email address I don't have), Patrick and I were working on
picking up access control stuff today again.

The downstairs phone has a new inside circuit, but it was opened ...
let's say not through the lock.

In the end, there is a new circuit in there now, but we apparently did
some silly mistake in the final cabeling, so that we didn't end up
being able to read from the internal device - will be fixed soon. Also
we'll improve the mounting probably next weekend. Also, while the
keypad works fine, we forgot to actually add the RFID reader :) But we
need to disassemble things next weekend anyway, then it will be very
pretty :)

The Raspberry Pi, serial connection and connection of the relay to
open the door worked fine, so as soon as the cabeling problem is
solved, we should be able to be opening the door using pin-codes
again. The connections are getting less spaghetti cableing but more
'neat'.

I'll be working on making a user interface with a box and LED readr
for the greeter or anyone who wants to add new RFID codes. This will
be happening in the week (but I will not be able to hang out at NB
over the week).

I've mounted the electric strike in the top-door. It is a hair too
thick, so that the stainless steel cover bends a bit, but it does not
hinder operation.

So if everything works fine, we should have the system working
(finally!) next weekend.
