[Noisebridge-congress] NOPE Flag: Anyone proficient with Blender to make flag move in the wind animated GIF ?

Hi,
So I am building a 160x96 pixel LED display that will be able to show any
kind of image, text, even video (need to work on that one) - essentially
whatever we want.
Including animated gifs (so grab your favorite giphy's for some camp fun).

Of course, we can use this as well to show our proud Norton Embassy flag,
but if it is shown statically, that would be a bit boring. If we had a flag
that somewhat realistically looked like flapping in the wind, that would be
great (something like this

).

There seem to be detailed tutorials available how do do that in Blender,
and the results look great; however, I am not proficient with even the
basics of Blender and rather want to make sure that I have time for all
electronics stuff for Camp - so I'd like to pass this on to someone who
better knows what they are doing.

If someone would like to make our camp flag totally awesome with a looped
animated GIF (with 200 frames or so to make it look realistic), that would
be great.

Here are some tutorials I have found:

http://www.blenderguru.com/tutorials/create-an-animated-flag/

Attached the flag Rubin made.

The output should fit in a 5:3 aspect ratio and ideally be a multiple of
160x96. Background ideally be black so that it shows nice and crisp on the
LED panel.

Thanks,
  Henner.
