Sucks, sorry to hear that.

I have a couple older Samsung Series 3 Chromebooks. You're welcome to
borrow one. They're worth literally $100, the screen isn't great, it's
super slow. However ChromeOS provides you with a bit of security through
obscurity (in my opinion) especially when paired with one of those pay for
proxies, the thing does run Linux if you force feed it, it gets amazing
battery life, and is super light.

If that doesn't sound that great, Chromebooks are pretty cheap used off
Amazon, and there are many now for around $200 that offer an Intel based
CPU (which makes getting Linuxy things running easier).
