[CQ] arduino fpga shield

I think it's about the workflow, in the same way that I initially didn't
understand the popularity of the Arduino given that there were plenty of
Atmel boards in existence before it arrived.  But, they packaged a
workflow that opened things up, and it makes a lot of sense to me now that
it's popular.  I don't know of anything similar for FPGAs, except certain
matlab-like or gnu-radio workflows which still do require some attention
to the build process.

To your question about SDR on this shield, Michael - this device won't run
much in the way of filtering or mixing, as it has only 1280 LUTs and no
multipliers.  Between that and the Arduino you're not going to do much in
the way of math (compared to other SDR options).  python on an rPi is
likely to be faster (I say with a smile).
