The Ham Radio Outlet store on Livingston Street in Oakland, next to West Marine, has a good selection of pre-made wire antennas. If you measure the potential length you have running North-South, that would help you choose. You would have to erect 10 foot masts at both ends to support it.

The electronic noise from your neighbors is going to be much worse than on your boat.
