[CQ] AREDN at JIFX

Hey Greg --

Sounds like a pretty cool project.

Indeed, I did the Noisebridge end of the link, while Dr. Jesus was
working out at the Hornet/ARC side.
I can't recall the exact hardware on the Hornet side, but I remember
my side being an 11dbi 2.4 Ghz dish, and we were attempting 802.11s.
Despite our best efforts, we couldn't hear anything from either end.
As we didn't have exact line of sight, or some optical system for
locating the far ends, I think we were probably misaligned, or just
didn't have the link margin on 2.4 Ghz to make it through.

This seems like a pretty cool project, and I'm curious to know more
about it, but my side project bandwidth is still too limited these
days.
These days, I'm working for an earth imaging company that donates
high-cadence imagery to disaster relief efforts.

Cheers,
jof
