In honour of Yuri’sNight , a global celebration of humanity’s past,
present, and future in space, AlphabetCamp be hosting SpaceCamp
(#spacecampto). Yuri’s Night events are held around the world every
April in commemoration of April 12, 1961, the day of cosmonaut Yuri
Gagarin’s first manned spaceflight, and April 12, 1981, the inaugural
launch of NASA’s Space Shuttle.

SpaceCamp (#spacecampto) will be an intense but informal gathering of
space enthusiasts at heart from many disciplines: artists, astronomers,
hackers, planetary scientists, engineers, sustainability focused
architects & designers, web developers, and many others.
SpaceCamp is an unconference, where participants decide the topics,
schedule, and structure of the event. Everyone who attends SpaceCamp is
encouraged to give a talk, moderate a panel, run a demo, or start a
discussion. Sessions are proposed and scheduled on the day they’re
given, which means the usual “hallway conversations” turn into
full-fledged topics.

This event aims to bring together people who would not normally have
conversations with each other, and create a space for surprising,
serendipitous connections. And what better place to generate creative
ideas than our venue site, the Centre for Social Innovation!
