you'll want a dust free clean room. rubber dust free gloves, a face mask (breathing kicks up dust) and a lot of patience.

I have a ir converted rebel xt. its nice. a UV mode one would be fun to play with.

I have an 800nm filter on it. in retrospect, I think a 1000nm filter would have been more interesting.

also, replacing the filter on the metering sensor really helps with getting good pictures. or so I've heard

out of an abusive relationship with technology since 2010
