[Darkroom] photo scanners

I have a V500, it's a good scanner overall. I've scanned 120 negetives
(color and B/W) and prints with it and got good results (here are some
examples:

remember installing the drivers a few years ago was a pain (windows) but
i eventually got it working. It probably just works on a mac and it
doesn't work at all under linux as far as I know (this scanner is just
about the only reason I still have a dual boot laptop actually). The
quality of the scans are good and you can do negative strips, but... I
found with the 120 strips it was easier to cut the strips down so that
there were four pictures per section (shooting in the square format = 12
pictures/roll on my holga). I could have scanned without cutting the
rolls, but the cutting was less trouble than trying to keep the
negatives positioned correctly in the holder when the rest of the strip
was hanging out of the scanner. So the strip holders could be better.
I hope this is helpful.
