[Darkroom] re-developing 35mm black/white film?

If the edge numbering on the film has good density and the images are
faint, the problem happened in camera.  If the edge numbering is faint,
you're spot on about chemistry.  Be sure to come to that conclusion, sorry
if I'm stating the obvious, but it's important.
