Hey Digital Archivists,

I meant to send this e-mail last week, when we set up the new and improved
book scanner and scanned our first book. Well, technically it was a comic
book (The Walking Dead #62), since we were pressed for time. I've attached
the first few pages so you can all take a look!

Here's what we did last week:
* Tore apart a keyboard and mapped the circuits
* Soldered the circuitboard to a button to serve as a camera trigger
* Used some wire to attach the trigger to the handle
* Wrote a shell script to download camera captures to a laptop
* Scanned a book!

Here's what we're doing tonight:
* Working on glare
* Working on camera positioning
* General strategizing and hanging out
