Hey everyone,

I was awarded the Awesome Foundation SF grant this month for a cool new circuit I've been working on for DIY digital cruise control to be installed in mobility scooters on the market. I thought I would share it with you all :)

while it is still in the prototyping stage I do have it working in my own scooter and have already given it a test run. This gives the user almost complete control over the motor controller and so a LOT of other hacks are possible! Including proximity sensors with beeps (for people with sight challenges), mountable motion detection for steering (for people with no or limited hand / arm use) and other things!

The idea is to sell a hackable kit people can install or hire an electrician to install. Or I could install them for people locally. I know it's a stretch for some to want to do this to their scooter, but for some of us it is the difference between leaving the house 1 day a week or 7 days a week or even at all. So I think it is worth putting out there for people to try :)

best wishes,

Zach

P.S. Erin, would you mind forwarding this to Marisol for me? I don't have their email and I thought they might enjoy this.
