i missed it because I was lost in a world of gmail migration, ralink 
drivers, and broken up arrow keys.

With SWIG it sounds possible, but possibly fatal. Pointers and classes 
are both treated as raw pointers, which is to say they can only be 
created and used by your interface, and you need to think *really hard* 
about all other interfaces. Further poking is needed.

I'm going to be learning more about swig in any case because it is 
relevant to my interests.
