Come to Noisebridge and learn life-saving skills for free during the week
of Class-A-Thon, taught by local safety training teacher Michael Lyons!

CPR/AED (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

The person in front of you just stopped breathing, the ambulance is 9
minutes away. What you do in the next few minutes could mean the difference
between life or death for this person. This course will teach you what to
do and how to do it. The American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED
class covers the most life saving skills you can do for Adults, Children
and Infants. It will include, what to do for choking as and how to use an
automated external defibrillator (AED).

Note this is an American Heart Association class, and Heartsaver CPR
certification may be available for those who successfully complete the
course.

Course date and time: Wednesday, August 13, 2014, 6PM

First-aid

This American Heart Association Heartsaver First-aid class will cover the
standard topics of first aid, including cuts, burns, and broken bones and
seizures and with special emphasis on topics important to the maker/hacker
community, including electrocution, chemical exposure and deciding when and
when not to call 911.

Note this is an American Heart Association class Heartsaver First Aid
certification may be available for those who successfully complete the
course.

Course Length: 2 hours with some hacker-focused material afterwards
Course date and time: Thursday, August 14, 2014, 7PM
