Thanks, David, for the really nice explanation.  That is how I remember things.  I can't think of anything else to add, except that we decided that there is no need to state in the bylaws document that we send to the state explicitly what the process is for people to become capital-M "Members" ("Stewards") -- we'll define that process in our internal documentation.

I'll be available to put more energy into this again when I get back from China, after the 27th.

Folks think we should have another meeting to hammer out language for the by-laws so we can present it to everyone on the list?
