Fran Allen won the 2006 Turing Award, which is as close as computer 
science gets to a Nobel Prize. She will be speaking at Berkeley about
"The Challenge of the Multi Cores: Think Sequential, Run Parallel".
Looks like a "general interest" lecture, but could still have enough 
depth to be interesting.
