[Noisebridge-discuss] More details for the nap pods ^W^W electronic workspace?

my opinion:

   as i understand it, there is a proposal for
a permanent sleeping area (naps).

   i don't like it because
* it encourages sleeping at 83C
* it strikes me as a poor use of space:
hopefully it will not be much used (if it is
much used, that may be a poor improvement).
* people tend to be considerate, and if
someone's sleeping anywhere, that will have
a constraining effect on others' activities,
in the upstairs area in this case.
* the three couches seem adequate for the
occasional napper.

   if some kind of workbench/desk were installed
in the proposed area, the floor beneath, possibly
the surface itself, could serve as a place for
nappers (maybe with a sleeping bag or blanket or
some such).

   i'd be willing to scribble up some plans for a
workbench/desk use of that space if people wish it.
briefly:
* worksurface fills entire cavity at about waist
height (it's possible to make this adjustable in
height, tho' such a design probably would
disallow sleeping on the surface);
* shelves and storage bins above 40 inches off
the floor;
* electrical outlets in sufficient numbers
(this could include a set of one or more
receptacles with limited amperage but driven
by isolation transformers);
* shallow storage shelves beneath the work
surface (which could allow a napper as well,
if that's wanted).
