[Noisebridge-discuss] carpet upstairs and allergies

While crawling about the space this evening labeling power outlets etc I
found that my allergies were being triggered - I suspect that there is some
serious mold (or at least other allergens) in the space, almost certainly
upstairs in and likely under the carpet.

So I would suggest that we do the following:

1. Look into what is underneath the carpet (perhaps test first in a closet?)
If there is indeed mold we probably should take care of that for everyone's
sake

2. Investigate options to replace the carpet - I think it has been rather
overused & abused, before we load too much more on top of it/build out the
upstairs, we might look into what we can find to replace it. My guess is
that since the space is not all that large replacements can be found with
some ease and for a fairly low (perhaps even nearly free) cost.

Currently I probably couldn't work upstairs for an extended period of time,
my allergies would likely get the better of me.

Which raises a related point - when/if we engage a cleaning service the
previous discussion had been that the cleaners would mostly focus on the
kitchen & bathroom - I would suggest that we should also have them clean the
upstairs (whatever carpeting we get) so that it remains clean.
