I just donated a McMaster Carr catalog to the space. If you're not
familiar with the big yellow book, it's a huge 3200+ page catalog of
all sorts of tools, hardware, materials & what-not. I've found it to
be an invaluable resource when doing mechanical design work.
It's all on-line: http://www.mcmaster.com/
But it's also really fun to flip the physical pages and browse...
polypropylene bin boxes, v-blocks, kevlar rope, screw extractors, acme
nuts, antifatigue mats, spring-tempered metals, beeswax blocks, animal
repellent and so on.
If we end up ordering stuff from there, at some point we can get a
more recent catalog, this one's 8 years old (but still fun to peruse).
They ship from LA overnight UPS ground -- order by 5pm & the package
arrives the next day.
Also dropped off the latest edition of UNIX In A Nutshell.
Enjoy!
John
