Yeah, it would be the most excellent thing to do to give what you'd given if
you'd have taken the (slow, boring, early) class on your own, and a
wonderful thing that Michael's donating anything collected to Noisebridge,
but I think the point is that we'd like to see everyone who spends time in
our space to learn to save lives.

I'm a little disappointed with the response to this, I must admit.  I
suppose a "schedule it and they will come" approach would probably be the
best tack.
