As Shannon pointed out, issues of emergency evacuation & egress drove
the proposed placement of these doors. Another point I'd like to make
is that there are activities in the "dirty shop" zone that might
benefit from having access to a larger classroom space from time to
time (for their lecture component). It would be handy to have the
option of moving back & forth from lab to lecture for a shop class,
photography class, etc. Having a door between the two spaces could
facilitate this.
