I'm neutral to it for basically the reasons you give - I don't mind
job posts to -discuss - but others (who created the sublist) have
objected previously AFAICT.  I'm just pointing at it.

(This is an instance of a more general trend - I don't mind relatively
high traffic listservs where I only read 1-5% of threads. I just toss
'em to a label and change how I read 'em so as not to be annoyed by
the extra traffic. But I know some people don't do that for various
reasons, and are annoyed by what they see as a too low S:NR.)

Perhaps you could discuss w/ the people who wanted this split off
whether they'd mind remerger of some sort?
