[Noisebridge-discuss] Serger repair and future maintenance on the sewing machines

A small piece broke off of the serger last weekend, so it is temporarily out
of commission. I had a repairman from Apparel City take a look at it on
Sunday, but he didn't have the missing part with him. His next visit is
scheduled at around 3pm on Saturday, afterwards the machine should be back
in service.
I'll be there to let him in and pay him (although some folks have kindly
offered to split the cost), but if anybody encounters future problems with
the machines they can contact Billy from Apparel City directly at
415-816-8645. He charges $40 an hour and does great work. In fact he used to
handle repairs for the old factory that used to be located in the
Noisebridge space.
These machines last for decades, but only if they get a little maintenance
every now and then. It's probably not a bad idea to have Billy out once or
twice a year for basic maintenance.
