On the offchance that there is anyone on this list who is not either on 
dorkbot or sf microcontrollers:

instructables has a contest, and i think this really is an amazing 
project and want them to win. if you agree please vote. and please 
spread this far and wide.

some of you might know jim and jess at the shipyard. they've been 
working with alternative fules for years now. they wrote an instructable 
detailing their conversion of a honda accord to use a gassifier to 
produce fuel (hydrogen) from garbage:

plus they desperately need the prize money for their All Power Labs, to 
further develop, research, and educate about alternative fuels.
