You would be absolutely astonished how much weird gritty crap will get
into your machine. The outside world is filled with dust and pollen,
and you're about to pump all of it through your machine.
you can set up an enclosure with some muffin fans and filters, (look up
what various people have done for burning man) but now you're paying
extra for vents, filters and power to run those extra fans. Plus you
need to be on top of changing out the filters with some frequency.
So you could do it, but it will take money and time and you may end up
turning a machine into a rusty pile of scrap.
