   i've got a similar tho't: a "jellybean" talk
that precedes a main talk.
for example, a jellybean talk about using solder
suckers that precedes some electronic-oriented
workshop or lab or other event.
another example, a jellybean talk about some
particular commonly used idiom in spanish that
precedes the main spanish seminar....
jellybean talks, in my view, necessarily
have someone other than the presenter or
coordinator of the main talk and take up from
five to fifteen minutes. they're a reward for
getting there on time and they allow a little
slop for those stuck in traffic or otherwise
delayed in getting to the event. (we do like
starting events on time, yes?)
