The short version: every year, the DoD has a digital forensics challenge,
and the winners get a free trip to St. Louis for the annual Cyber Crime
Conference (in addition to street cred). I entered last year but was unable
to submit my results. Would this interest anyone?

To answer the "what is digital forensics" question, I defer to Google
define:
"Computer forensics is a branch of forensic science pertaining to legal
evidence found in computers and digital storage mediums. Computer forensics
is also known as digital forensics."
OR
" The analysis of digital media to detect forgery or manipulation"
OR
"Digital forensics is a field of science of applying digital technologies to
legal questions arising from criminal investigations."

Anyone interested in entering? We could have up to four people on a
Noisebridge team.
