[Noisebridge-discuss] unannounced groups of non-members at Noisebridge (esp. kids)

About an hour ago there was a group of middle school students (about 15-20)
that were part of a media arts programme at a school in Seattle (with
teacher/chaperones) that showed up at our front door. They came for the
Maker Faire but had heard about us (they said through Wired) and wanted to
stop by and see what we all were about.
I was the only member there at the time of their arrival and was the only
person there besides Gina so I gave them the grand tour while making sure
they didn't touch anything they weren't supposed to (they didn't, they were
very very respectful and highly inquisitive).

The programme that the teacher was telling me about sounded really really
awesome, they were teaching these middle school students how to use
Arduinos, processing and electronics. I wish they had a programme like that
in *my* middle school.

Anyway, the whole point of this message was to inform you all that they were
here and that this will likely not be the only largeish unannounced group
that wants to check us out over the course of the weekend and afterwards
since so many people from all around the world are going to be coming for
Maker Faire and have heard about us and what we're doing here. I don't think
that we've had a large group of kids come check out the space as well, at
least not as long as I've been here. I assume there's other liability issues
when dealing with the underage which I don't think we've had to deal with
before.

Food for thought, I'll be putting these items for discussion at the next
meeting but figured you should all know. :)
