Unlikely, IMO. They don't have the suicidality element. (Scientology

I've heard this before, but seen no evidence of it. I'll ask Nate
about it though.


FWIW, if you want to know why they act the way they do, it's important
to understand that they're strict Calvinists. They don't believe that
salvation comes through faith or deeds, but through preordained
election alone. So while they believe that they have a duty to preach,
they don't believe that preaching has any causal effect.

This is pretty radically different from other Christians (who believe
people can be brought to salvation and free will, etc). But
ironically, I think that they're more consistent in their beliefs than
most Christians I've talked to.

Which is kinda sad.
