well, the jtags are equal (the standard is really just a couple pins
which doesn't specify really what you're sending). the target device
jtag support and the host talking to the jtag is what really differs
(modulo vendor extensions like arm's debug port which i still think of
jtag no matter how offten i get beat down about it).

ok. i've never looked at an avr jtag.

this works pretty well (a little slow compared to 'fancy' units :-), and
i'd recommend this if you have an actual parallel port. (i first tried
this route w/ a usb parallel thing that didn't work so well).
