Hi Jim,

My name is Frantisek Apfelbeck and I am involved in project development of
multimedia center in Placetas, Cuba. I'm a linux fan and user and I am currently organising
fund rising events to support this project. I wonder if you would be interested in the project and
maybe discuss it the next Monday meeting or when I get in SF? I would certainly appreciate
help with getting contacts on organisations and individiual who may be interested in this project
and eventually donate some used hardware because gathering of nearly anything what may help
for minimal cost is crucial (used things are my favorite option anyway).

I have already got a hand from the guys from Linux Group in Galway, who's member I am - I did presentation
about the project last year and I got some know how and equiment from them.

I am also interested in current development of Cuban version of Linux Nova, I hope to get
in touch with the developers once I get there.

So if you could help me to get in touch with anyone in Bay Area (or around
West Coast) who may be interested in the project, it would be greate. I am ready to make
presentations based on my previous stay and studies, organise coffee mornings,
barbeques etc. the usual staff. I should leaver for Cuba at the end of September
or beginning of October latest.

I have to mention that I am not very experienced Linux user by myself but I am certainly
enthusiastic and surely want to support projects in sustainable development, believing, that
one of the fundamental criteriums is to run them as an open source. I hate windows, I know
they are probably not so bad, but just hate them.

Have a good time, I hope to meet you in SF,

Sincerely,

Frantisek

PS Would you have a contact on someone in Electronic/Computer recycling centers around
Bay Area?

PS II For more details check my very simple webpage www.frantisekapfelbeck.org

PS III. I can not imagine what they have to work with there. These guys can repair nearly anything.
