[Noisebridge-discuss] Rebar is back up, music in the space.

I've gotten the Rebar back up and running, still showing the same (some
broken) information. I suggest people check out the wiki page for it and
start making some cool shit again.

MPD (the jukebox open source server) is running again on Zebra (the
rebar machine) and also the Noisebridge-Greet machine. I've taken our PA
system and hooked it up to the greet machine. Zebra doesn't have
speakers setup yet, not too sure where to put them.

Additionally I've been hearing sound complaints from other members about
loud music bothering classes in session in each of the class rooms. The
greet speakers are on the ground next to the couches not pointed towards
anything in particular. Again I'm not too sure where zebra's speakers
should go without being to directional and loud, annoying classes. The
current idea is if classes are in session music can happen around the
couches, if classes aren't in session music can also happen more towards
the kitchen area.

Both machines are right now recaching any music sitting in
pony:/d1/music, currently there's about 344 gigs of content in that
directory. Since Jof, Matt and Dr Jesus have shown great interest in
unflustering the current network setup, I'm not going to bother giving
either machine static IPs or reattaching the web based clients to one or
the other. Members are welcome to use clients on their machine to
connect to the servers.

Zebra - 192.168.3.100
Greet - 192.168.3.88

You can find a list of clients here...

Greet has this horrible issue with snd-powermac module muting the
headphone jack when something gets plugged into it, and needs to be
reset through alsamixer after each reboot. If anyone has some good
kungfu with amixer, I'd appreciate some advice on writing a start up
script to deal with muting and unmuting some things through it.

Haven't been able to find the Apple AirPort Express since I left it in
the DJ booth. If you have a Mac or would simply like to stream from your
computer mp3s to either MPD session, please poke me and I can show you a
neat trick involving shoutcast and have MPD tune into your machine. It's
very simple and can totally be scripted.

Jason Dusek does not appreciate my musical tastes when he's pulling an
all nighter at Noisebridge.
